About
Villard Commons was born as an idea of ACRE in Milwaukee, WI where the group of students decided that they wanted to make their class project real.
PAST
The site was a city owned site that was once Banks Funeral Service and Cremation. The building being vacant for a number of years fell into disarray and became too dilapidated to be renovated so the City of Milwaukee issued an RFP to bring interest to the site.
Present
In partnership with Brinshore Development, 43 Units of new construction workforce housing has been built and is fully leased in the Old North Milwaukee neighborhood. The effort was supported financially by Low Income Housing Tax Credits, Tax Incremental Financing, Federal Home Loan Bank AHP, HOME funds, NSP & conventional debt.
